The third of these new prototypes to be produced by Anaheim was the RX-78GP03 Gundam, code-named "Dendrobium." The Dendrobium was composed of two units: the RX-78GP03S Gundam mobile suit itself, code-named "Stamen"; and the large RX-78GP03 Gundam mobile weapon unit, code-named "Orchis." The Orchis was an unmanned unit, and required the Stamen - which itself had a pilot - to be docked with it for it to function. Since the GP03 Dendrobium was designed as a defense unit for space installations capable of taking on enemy mobile armor, the Orchis component was basically a large spacegoing vehicle, equipped with enough thrusters to make it a fast interception unit. Its primary heavy armament was a large mega beam cannon, mounted on its own movable arm for aiming, and it also had two large claws which incorporated large beam sabers capable of slicing up something as large as a battleship. The Orchis also mounted an external I-field barrier generator, giving the GP03 complete 360-degree protection from enemy beam weapons fire. For versatility, it also mounted two large weapons container pods, which could carry a variety of weapons from micromissile launcher pods to battleship-sized demolition chain mines. Spare weapons containers could be loaded out ahead of time, and the Orchis could have empty pods changed out for new ones in a matter of minutes. The GP03S Stamen was completed at Anaheim's Von Braun City lunar factory and delivered to their La Vie en Rose research dockship, where the Orchis component had also been completed. The only thing left to make the GP03 field-ready was piloting and combat data. However, with the shutdown of the Gundam Development Project, Earth Federation Forces security officer Nakahha Nakato dismissed all of the Anaheim research staff except for systems engineer Lucette Audevie. With the threat of the Delaz Fleet and the impending colony drop crisis, Lucette strongly argued for the GP03's completion, all to no avail. To face this desparate situation, Gundam pilot Kou Uraki and the crew of the assault carrier Albion literally hijacked the GP03 - with the assistance of Lucette and at the cost of her life - and quickly fielded the Dendrobium, proving to be a devastating foe to the Delaz fleet escorting their hijacked colony falling towards Earth.RX78 + GP03's Extreme battle:
This "ground pounder" carries a backpack (could hold a car) which opens for weapons storage. Cockpit armor panels fold down. Includes an unpainted figure of Pilot Shiroh Amada. The instruction book is 19 pages and includes a "Documentary photographs" page, and painting guides. Weapons include Beam Rifle, 10mm Machine Gun, Hyper Bazooka (Ground Type), Beam Saber and Shield.
Inspired by Sun Shangxiang from the Chinese literary classic "Romance of the Three Kingdoms," Sonshoukou Gerbera is now a nicely detailed snap-fit plastic kit! She wields a naginata weapon, and the bow on her back can be detached for use as an actual bow weapon! Includes two types of paper cut-out aprons. Part of Bandai's "BB Senshi Sangokuden Senjin Kettou Hen" ("BB Warrior Romance Of The Three Kingdoms: Battle of the War Gods Chapter") line, this simple kit is molded in color and features polycap joints, detachable armor parts, and heel stamps with his name etched into both heels for you to stamp on anything you like when stamp dye (not included) is applied to the heels! Foil stickers are provided for detail so painting is not required, but would add a more realistic appearance to the final product. A full-color manga chapter drawn by PLEX Tatsuhiko Shimoda is also included (printed on the assembly instructions sheet). Although the assembly instructions are in Japanese, they are extremely well illustrated so anyone can follow them.
Bandai's newest PG offering is truly deserving of the name "Perfect Grade," and it's also a two-in-one; you can build it as either the GP01 or the GP01Fb! Like previous Perfect Grade kits, this behemoth offers a level of detail and motion that's far beyond what you see in even the biggest Master Grade offerings. Panels and hatches all over the surface open, to reveal inner mechanical details. What's more, after you get done wading through over two dozen runners of literally thousands of parts, you'll have armament for the GP01 including two 60mm Vulcans, two beam sabers, and a beam rifle, as well as the Core Fighter II. For the GP01Fb, there are two extra beam guns, and you can build the Core Fighter II Fb. But that's not all -- the kit also includes the parts to build a hangar/dock (see photos below), with little figures of maintenance workers to position around it! A bonus card with a serial number on it also included. Act now, and add this beauty to your Perfect Grade collection (and don't forget to budget for the shipping costs, this item weighs 5kg/11 lbs.)!
Mecha OverviewThe third of these new prototypes to be produced by Anaheim was the RX-78GP03 Gundam, code-named "Dendrobium." The Dendrobium Stamen is the core component of the incredible weapons system known as the Gundam GP03. Designed to operate in conjunction with the armed base Orchis, the Stamen is equipped with tail binders to lock it in position, and its forearms unfold into special manipulator claws which are used to grab weapons from the Orchis's weapon containers. The Stamen was, for the most part, a standard type of mobile suit, although it did incoporate some differences from other "normal" Gundam prototypes. Instead of the costly Core Block System, the cockpit was of the panoramic cockpit display originally tested in the Gundam Alex. The usual head vulcan guns were absent, replaced by an advanced sensor and avionics package. The backpack was composed of a "docking binder" system to link up with and control the Orchis mobile weapon component. The arms also each incorporated a large, folding manipulator arm, which was used to retrieve the Stamen's own weapons from their storage racks in the Orchis' weapons container pods. The GP03S Stamen was completed at Anaheim's Von Braun City factory and delivered to their La Vie En Rose research dockship, where the Orchis component had also been completed. The only thing left to make the GP03 field-ready was piloting and combat data. On November 11, the mobile assault carrier Albion arrives at La Vie En Rose, and its crew commandeer the Gundam GP03 as a replacement for the destroyed GP01. Over the next two days, pilot Kou Uraki repeatedly takes this experimental superweapon into battle against the Delaz Fleet. Both the Stamen and Orchis components appear to survive the conflict intact, but their final disposition is unknown, and all records of them are erased in March of the following year.Source:angelfire.com
Here's the Mobile Armor flown by Kelly Lazner in Gundam 0083 against the GP01Fb. Posable arms. Comes with display stand and two tiny-little 1/550 scale replicas of the GP01Fb and GP-02 (both unpainted).
There are 16 runners of parts here. Those shoulder "binders" are particularly interesting, especially the way the outer nozzle pivots downward. The "atomic bazooka" can be mounted in the hand in firing position, or it breaks down into two pieces, the barrel mounting in the inside of the shield (see photo), with the remainder mounting on the GP02's back. Comes with the usual stickers, inner-mechanism detail, multiple sets of hands, beam saber, rifle. Simple instruction included in a box.
The RGM-79Q GM Quel is the first mass-produced mobile suit created by the Titans special forces, used during the organization's early stages mainly for peacekeeping, riot control and suppression purposes inside space colonies. It can be said that a clear line could be drawn, performance wise, between the more advanced GM Quel and the other mass-produced service models used within the common ranks of the EFSF, signifying the elite status of the Titans unit.
