There are many ways to enjoy Gundam. You can sit back and watch the countless anime series depicting the giant robots, play the latest Gundam game, or go out and buy some of the merchandise. If you want to get a bit more involved you can buy the model kits, construct and paint them. Still not enough for you? Then how about creating your very own large-scale Gundam out of cardboard?
We don’t believe there are any instructions for creating the figure you see below. It just takes an intimate knowledge of the mech, a lot of cardboard, a very sharp knife, and a lot of time. I bet this took a few solid days to plan, then there’s the cutting time, and finally the glueing. It’s got to be a few weeks worth of work.
The end result is truly epic, and the creator should be commended for getting this so perfect. The two-color cardboard scheme really works and you don’t need to add color. Although, if you did, and did it well, you could end up with something looking even better. I’m not sure you can get the metallic paint effect on cardboard easily, though.
